My approach
My approach is strength-based, client-focused, and trauma-informed. My aim is to create the conditions for clients to access and harness their resources, innate healing intelligence, and inner knower.
Research shows that significantly more than any technique, the most essential aspect of change in counselling and coaching work is the therapeutic relationship. My primary goal is to establish this safe, trusting, nourishing relationship for clients to identify and move towards their unique version of authenticity, fulfillment, and wholeness.
Rather than trying to force clients into a specific therapeutic process, I follow an eclectic and integral approach, tailoring my focus to each client’s needs and goals. When structure and technique are called for, I borrow orientations, frameworks and concepts from a variety of modalities that I align with (see below and feel free to ask more about each modality). Starting with dialogue and inquiry, sessions can move to deeper levels of knowing and healing based in the body, emotions, imagery, the natural world, and even music and ritual.
I have found that working in nature-based settings, by phone/online, and in-office all have wonderful benefits for different clients, and I have openings for each setting.
Modalities that have influenced my approach include:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Emotionally Focused Therapy
Integration of Psychedelic and Non-Ordinary States
Internal Family Systems
Nature-Based Therapy
Narrative Therapy
Solution-focused Therapy
Somatic Therapy
